Bloomfield woman died from bleeding due to chop injury

A post-mortem examination yesterday revealed that the Bloomfield, Corentyne woman who was discovered motionless in her bed died due to the chop injuries she sustained during a fight with her husband on Sunday evening.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on Oma Davi Virasamy, 30, a housewife of Lot 171 Bloomfield, New Housing, Corentyne, yesterday which revealed that she died as a result of shock and haemorrhage due to a severed artery in her foot.

Her husband, Mahendra Paltoo, 35 years, a labourer, of the same address, remains in police custody and is expected to be charged before the end of the week.
