Dear Editor,
I just wanted to share with you my experience, strength and hope. I going to share with you something so that you can learn from my mistakes. Having a generator is mandatory in Guyana. GPL is not reliable. On Monday (7 November) since 11 am, no electricity which means no water, no shower, no brushing my teeth, no flushing the toilet, damaged electrical appliances, fridge and air-conditioner.
According to GPL, the problem will take 24 hours to fix. This problem happens at least four times per year. None of this bothers me because I know this is Guyana. What bothers me today is that I have people visiting from overseas, and they are angry at me because they can’t take a shower or run the air-conditioner or turn on the lights. I repeat you must have a generator or you will suffer. Living in Guyana is a big struggle.
Thank you,
