The South Dakota Circuit will be littered with machines built for speed today when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) hosts its International Race of Champions meet, which will also serve as the final leg of the Radicals Caribbean Cup series.
Back from a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the highly anticipated year-end fixture returns for a grand finale.
Action is set to start at 07:00hrs with the Radicals Qualifiers. On a longer course with upgrades thanks to the government of Guyana and other investors, the daredevils are set to transform South Dakota into their personal battleground for speed.
Competitors from Team Barbados include Mark Maloney (Group 4; RX-3 and Radical Series), Steve King (Group 4; Nissan Skyline), Sulieman Esuf (Radical Series), Ahmed Esuf (Group 2, Radical Series), Stewart Maloney (Radical Series) and Sean Maloney (Radical Series).
The Radical Series will feature a full field of nine racers featuring leader, Trinidad’s Kristian Boodoosingh and Guyana’s Kristian Jeffrey who sits in second place
Other drivers who are expected to compete in the radicals on Sunday include Senna Sommerbell, Mark Vieira and Kevin Jeffrey.
Tickets for adults cost $2500 while children will pay $1000.
