Opposition Member of Parliament, Juretha Fernandes was yesterday rushed to the hospital after she complained of feeling unwell.
Stabroek News was informed that at the time, Fernandes was at a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting at Parliament Building.
Contacted last night, APNU+AFC Chief Whip, Christopher Jones told Stabroek News that after Fernandes complained of feeling unwell, she was examined by Dr Vishwa Mahadeo, a government member of the Committee.
“She complained of feeling unwell. Some sort of discomfort pain. Apparently there was some issue with breathing as well,” Jones said.
Jones added that Mahadeo recommended that Fernandes be taken to the hospital.
As such, she was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital’s (GPH) Accident and Emergency Unit.
Up to last night, Jones said Fernandes remained at the hospital. “She was taking oxygen and resting,” he said.
