The Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) has identified four teams with a fifth to follow for its U15 Inter Association tournament which is scheduled to commence next month at venues to be identified.
According to a press release from the DCB, the tournament will commence November 18 and conclude November 25.
According to the DCB, the reason for the early start this year is because of plans for the DCB county teams for the upcoming 2023 season.
“After this tournament is concluded the DCB selectors will be selecting a squad to commence training which will lead right into the GCB under 15 Inter County 2023,” the release stated.
The DCB has named teams from East Coast, East Bank, Upper Demerara and Georgetown.
The West Demerara Cricket Association Under 15 team will be announced later, the DCB release stated.
The teams named so far are:
East Coast: Mickel Sharma (Captain), Munesh Outar, Gopaul Ramcharran, Ravin Persaud, Udesh Jaikaran, Kyle Gibson (Vice- captain), Eric Phillips, Navin Narine, Ruel Dindyal, Narindra Isurdeen, Amit Shiwadansa, Adrian Kissoon, Nicholas Simon and Devendra Ramkarran. Reserves are Alvin Rampersaud, Deshon Stephens, Jayden Khargu and Hemant Prasad. Coach Latchman Yadram and manager Richard Albert.
East Bank: Roupie Rajaram (Captain), Dilshan Latchman, Alex Persaud, Alex Singh, Dinesh Sheumber, Navindra Singh, Ganesh Appanah, Devendra Mohamed, Keshan Singh, Tunil Suraj, Mahindra Bankay, John Springer, Jeremiah Downer and Kristan Brown. Reserves are Jaden Benjamin and Jordan Benjamin. Coach Daniel Barker and Manager Fazal Ishak.
Upper Demerara: Dishon Ashby, Jonathan Hall, Joseph Hall, Raphael Tappin, Tristan Peter’s, Christophe Hayman, Taefarie Fredericks, Joshua Dash, Selwyn Smith, Keon Phillips, Carlos Clark, Corey Charles, Vikram Persaud and Shaukel Fiedtkou.
Georgetown: Emmanuel Lewis (Captain), Darwin Larose (Vice-captain), Reyaz Latif, Lomar Seecharran, Brandon Henry, Trilok Nanan, Ravin Singh, Julian Craig, Kadeem, Anel Haimnarine, Joshua Charles, Sameer Bhola, Samuel Barkoye and Shane Sivbarran. Reserves are Yusuf Hack, Fazal Samad, Thierry Davis, Ravindra Singh and Vikash Roopnarine. Coach Quasen Nedd and Manager Shaun Massiah.
In the first round matches East Coast will face off with Upper Demerara while West Demerara will battle East Bank. All matches will start at 9am daily.
