Boxers get ready, the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) is set to host its Lennox Blackmore Intermediate Boxing Tournament from tomorrow through at the National Gymnasium.
However, today is the day to be cleared medically and make the weight.
The medical examinations and weigh-in will be held this afternoon at the Gymnasium from 17:00hrs.
This year’s tournament will now include Juniors and Youths categories.
All categories will be required to weigh in today. The best gym for the Junior category will come from the junior category only. Coaches are asked to take note.
Technical Director of the fistic association, Terrence Poole (MS) is the person overseeing the event.
When contacted yesterday, Poole told this publication that in excess of 50 boxers will be in action during the three-night event which will start from 18:00hrs nightly.
Poole also said that the boxers will compete for medals and trophies from the following gyms: GDF, Police, Republican, Pace and Power, FYF, Vergenoegen and Linden.
