The Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) yesterday said that it had only had the police file on the arrest of an attorney by SOCU for 10 days.
In a statement, the DPP was responding to a report in yesterday’s Stabroek News headlined `DPP still to provide advice on detention of attorney by SOCU’.
The statement said that the DPP’s office wished to state that the opening paragraph of the news item would lead readers to believe that the police file had been received by the Chambers three weeks ago.
