Dear Editor,
I sympathise with a nation that does not value poetry in its cultural outreach. This week as I read poem after poem, I found reflections of myself inwardly and outwardly. I enjoyed the music of these poems. I tasted the effectiveness of diction, I delighted in the imagery. The subject- matter of the poems offered me valuable life lessons and comfort, especially when I looked back at experiences in my life. These poems aroused in me a degree of humble pride to be numbered among poets, if not in Guyana, elsewhere. May I encourage poetry lovers to continue to write and enjoy the work of others. You are in a special field of beauty.
Sincerely,
Krishna Nand Prasad
