If Nicholas Albert’s intuition comes to fruition, he will be crowned the next Mr. Guyana on the evening of December 18 at the National Cultural Centre .

In fact, he will be the youngest muscleman to hold the prestigious title of Mr. Guyana.

Albert who turned 22 last month is brimming with confidence ahead of the flagship National Senior Championship. The highly anticipated year end spectacle is set to attract the cream of the nation’s bodybuilding athletes on one stage.

Albert nicknamed ‘Creed’ plans to use his sharp physique to slice through the competition.

The double CAC silver medalist told this publication yesterday that he has made improvements in his size and conditioning and he feels the time has arrived for him to take his seat on the local bodybuilding throne. “I want to be the best here and I want to continue to represent Guyana with distinction. I want to put this country more on the map.”

Taking a shot at the polarizing figure, current Mr. Guyana, Darious Ramsammy, Albert said he is more suited to be Mr. Guyana and a better ambassador for the sport.

“I know I have what it takes to become Mr. Guyana and I am respectful and I have respect for others.”

Albert added “I have full confidence in myself and I believe that I will win it.”

‘Creed’, a popular trainer at Space Gym, said he has had his hard hat on, putting in work, in an out the weight room and has his blinders on with his eyes on Guyana’s highest bodybuilding prize. “I have been putting in the work and I am pushing 100% to meet where I want to meet. I am feeling it.” If declared the winner, the 180-lb mass of aesthetic muscle will join rarified air as only a few men can lay claim to holding the coveted title of Mr. Guyana. Even more impressive he will create history as being the youngest. Albert thanked Jamie McDonald, CEO of Fitness Express and Anil Persaud from Life Club Cafe’ and Eatery for playing a major role in his fitness career thus far.

Will Albert become the new King of local bodybuilding or will Ramsammy’s reign continue? The answer will be known on December 18. Doors are set to open from 18:00hrs and tickets cost $2500. See you there.
