The Ministry of Public Works yesterday said that a photograph in Wednesday’s edition of Stabroek News showed a car stuck in a cleaned drain not a pothole.
The caption for the photo of the car stuck in the flooded Square of Revolution had stated that the vehicle had fallen into a big pothole. The ministry said that this was not so.
“This caption is false as there is no pothole in this location. However, there is an existing drain that was cleaned in the recent country wide clean-up exercise. This drain was cleared to move run-off water from the road into the Hadfield Street Canal. Please see picture below”.
