Some 33 of the 991 players registering for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction are from the West Indies.
This was revealed by the operating body of the biggest franchise league globally with 277 overseas players among the lot for the December 23 event set for Kochi, India.
Australia has the largest number of entries at 57 followed by South Africa with 52 and they are the only two nations with more entries than the Caribbean. England has 31 players while New Zealand and Sri Lanka have 27 and 23 respectively.
Eighty-eight uncapped internationals are also among the pool with three uncapped internationals who featured in previous IPLs.
Player of the final in the previous tournament, Sam Curran, is listed at the maximum reserve price of INR 2 crore (approximately US$ 246,000).
Former West Indies white-ball captains, Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder are also listed in that bracket alongside New Zealand captain, Kane Williamson, England Test captain Ben Stokes and Australia all-rounder, Cameron Green, Chris Lynn and Phil Salt.
Local boy, Sherfane Rutherford, along with Shakib Al Hasan, Jason Roy and Adam Zampa are listed in the INR 1.5 Crore bracket.
West Indians, Roston Chase, Rakheem Cornwall, Shai Hope, Akeal Hossein are all the other West Indians listed in the INR 1 Crore group.
At most, only 87 players can be bought at the auction of which 30 can be overseas players.
Notably, Dwayne Bravo has transitioned over to coaching as well as Kieron Pollard, both of whom will be taking up coaching roles with Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.
