So says standout bodybuilder Roger Callender ahead of the flagship National Senior Championships scheduled for December 18 at the National Cultural Centre.
Callendar, a silver medalist at this year’s Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Championships said he has done the work in and out weight room, made the necessary improvements and cannot wait to unwrap his new physique a week before Christmas.
Callender, whose Instagram name is ‘RC The Beast’ stated “This is not a new ‘RC’ , this is the same RC with new upgrades”.
The 39-year-old stated that he has moved up from the under 143lb class to the under 154lb class and his added size, paired with his trademark razor sharp conditioning, will make him more competitive in the line-up overall.
“Since I came back from the last CAC championship, I started to make the necessary adjustments and worked on all my weaknesses and push to go up in weight to have a better shot at the overall title,” he said.
He added “For this event, the plan is to come in bigger with the same level of conditioning that I am known for, basically the total package. I’m very confident in winning my class and ready for battle in the overall.”
He continued “One thing I know for sure a new Mr. Guyana will be crowned.”
The popular fitness trainer stated that patrons can “Expect to be shocked from my improvements for this show as I battle with the best of the best bodybuilders Guyana has to offer.”
He spoke about his preparation ahead of the highly anticipated event .
“This prep is one of the best so far but we (fitness athletes) say this every prep but only because we are always improving and will be doing so in the future because the work we put in now our future self will be thankful.”
He was also thankful for the generous support he has received Team Mohammed’s, Fitness Express, Zoon Online Shopping and “All my fans, clients and love ones.”
He encourages fitness fans to show their support by attending the event. Doors are set to open from 18:00hrs and tickets cost $2500.
