Back Circle, Red Force, and Ballers Empire clinched hard-fought wins, when the maiden edition of the Mocha Village ‘East Bank versus the Rest’ Streetball championship commenced on Saturday at the Basketball Tarmac.
In the feature affair of the evening, Back Circle squeaked past Family 3-2. Jermaine Beckles bagged a double while Selwyn Williams netted once. For the loser, Kevin Agard and Teon Jones found the back of the net.
Similarly, Red Force downed ‘Zessers’ 1-0 compliments of a Kelvin Gordon strike. Likewise, Ballers Empire edged Unruly 1-0. Colin Peters recorded the only conversion of the encounter.
Meanwhile, Agricola and Hillside played to a scoreless affair. The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of group stage matches.
