Beterverwagting (BV)/Buxton won the Region Four title in the One Guyana President Cup, defeating South Ruimveldt/Tucville 2-1 yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown.
Neil Hutson opened the scoring in the 33rd minute for BV/Buxton, uncorking a powerful volley into the back of the net after latching on to a cross.
The lead proved to be short-lived, as Kelsey Benjamin equalised in the 38th minute, lobbing his effort which was misjudged by the goalkeeper, into the far corner from outside the box.
The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval. However, Dillon Wright settled the outcome in the 63rd minute, directing his header into the right corner, after rising between the two centre-halves to latch onto a left-side cross from a free-kick.
