(Trinidad Guardian) A 52-year-old businessman was fatally shot by bandits as he was delivering goods at Queen’s Avenue, Three B’s Drive, Piarco North Bank Road, Piarco, yesterday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Chandan Ramjit, of Hydraulic Trace, Caroni.
According to preliminary investigations, police said Ramjit went to drop off an order of several bags of cement and other small hardware items, valued at approximately $500, at Queen’s Avenue, when he was confronted by three bandits.
Police said there was a struggle between Ramjit and one of the bandits during which time he was shot multiple times about the body. He died at the scene.
Investigations are continuing by Homicide detectives.
