LGC pays homage to youngest ever Open champion, the late Nazim ‘Papo’ Haniff

The late Nazim ‘Papo’ Haniff set two distinct records 10 years apart at the Lusignan Golf Course (LGC), as he became the youngest ever Open champion, and did the double circuit over 18 holes for a gross 64 including six under par in 1987.

Haniff etched his name in the local history books, becoming the youngest ever winner of the Lusignan Open at the tender age of 18 in 1977. His second round, the double circuit for a gross of 64 including six under par, was achieved ten years later at the age of 28.
