Man for trial over killing of best friend

The trial of Sean Stoll who was charged with the 2016 accidental killing of his best friend Nafasi Edghill, is set to commence today before High Court Judge Simone Morris-Ramlall at the High Court in Demerara.

The jury which will be hearing the case was empaneled yesterday morning.

When he was arraigned, Stoll pleaded not guilty to the charge of manslaughter when it was read to him.

Particulars of the offence allege that he unlawfully killed Edghill on April 29th, 2016 at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Stoll is being represented by defence attorney Nigel Hughes; while the State’s case is being led by prosecutor Simran Gajraj, who will be calling just under a dozen witnesses to testify.

Police had said that Edghill, 39, a businessman formerly of Castello Housing Scheme, Georgetown sustained a single gunshot wound to his abdomen.
