Dear Editor,
The most recent outburst from the mayor has left many persons either laughing at him or feeling disgusted by his behaviour. Unfortunately, the mayor has not done anything much or anything at all for the people of Georgetown. Prior to the national clean up exercise initiated by His Excellency Dr. Ali, this city was a dump site!
I note that one particular MP released the names of roads and streets that fall under the Ministry of Public Works, let’s not forget some of the potholes and major access streets within various areas of the capital that are under the Mayor and City Council.
For a man that worships and is supposed to be seen as a leader to make remarks about religious affairs it shows that one is unstable. It shows that when flustered the mayor is capable of making hasty decisions without thinking twice of the impact it can have on everyone.
I can sympathize with those vendors but understanding the hazard that they pose towards the entrance at GPHC is much more important and they should be relocated.
The Mayor should do the honourable thing and resign from his post.
