GTT Business Solutions and Cyril’s Transportation Service were among the winners on Thursday, when the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) hosted its 133rd Annual Awards Presentation and Gala Dinner at the Guyana Marriott Hotel.
According to a GCCI press release, each year, the Chamber honours local businesses, organisations and individuals who have achieved a standard of excellence in the business community through their abilities, efforts, and initiatives.
It noted that this year’s awardees were selected from a robust list of nominations.
This year’s awardees were:
1. Business of the Year (Large): GTT Bussiness Solutions
2. Business of the Year (Medium): Cyril’s Transporta-tion Service
3. Business of the Year (Small): Chateram Ramdihal, Chartered Accountants, Professional Services Firm
4. Business of the Year (Micro): Nice Touch Spa and Mobile Unit
5. Lifetime Achievement: Sattaur Gafoor, Gafsons Industries Limited
6. Woman in Business: Evie Kanhai-Gurchuran, Proprietor, Envisage Marketing & Technology Company
7. President’s Award: Harold Hopkinson, CEO, Secure Innovations and Concepts Inc
8. Chamber Award: Brian Edward, Managing Director, Green Agro Services & Supplies Inc.
9. Young Business Executive: Phil Surooj, CEO, PS Shipping and Customs Brokerage Inc.
10. Award for Innovation: OnCall Health Inc.
11. Corporate Citizenship Award: Barama Company Limited
12. Public Service Award of Excellence: Guyana Defence Force
13. Outstanding Green Business: Everything Makes Craft
14. President’s Local Content Award: Guyana Shore Base Inc.
15. Media Award: Guyana Times
In addition, special Recognition Awards were given to Richard Rambarran, Advisor and Economic Consultant, GCCI, Nicholas Deygoo-Boyer, Director, National Hardware, and Minister within the Ministry of Public Works Deodat Indar, in recognition of stellar contributions to local content development.
