Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha yesterday oversaw the installation of a drainage pump at the Peters Hall sluice on the East Bank of Demerara. According to a Ministry of Agriculture Facebook post, the pump is expected to complement the sluice in draining flooded areas.
Mustapha visited several flooded areas on the East Bank of Demerara on Saturday. Persistent rainfall caused the flooding.
