Andrew Simons netted a hat trick to spur region Number Seven to a 3-1 victory over Region Number Eight in a fixture of the `One Guyana President’s Cup’ football tournament Sunday night.
The match was played at the Bartica Community Centre ground.
Simons netted his hat-trick in the eighth, 45th and 85th minute while Levi Wilson recorded a consolation goal in the 76th minute for Region Number Eight.
Over at the Buxton Community Centre ground, favourite Region Four edged nemesis Region Six 2-1.
Following a scoreless first half interval, which was witnessed by a sizable crowd, Murphy Felix and Threvon Pluck scored in the 63rd and 72nd minute respectively to secure the come-from-behind result.
Devon James etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 60th minute for the Region Six side.
