Citing the recent rescue of seven men off the Pomeroon coast, the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) has underlined the importance of wearing a life jacket while travelling on water.
In a statement yesterday it noted that the coast guard had managed to rescue seven crew members after their boat, LADY SHAZEEDA, sank on December 25th off the Pomeroon coast. It pointed out that after several hours on a life raft six crew members were rescued. The seventh, Christopher Williams was rescued after 19 hours in the water.
