Dear Editor,
I am appealing to the related Ministry/ Ministries of Government to address the flood situation at Patentia West, West Bank Demerara, Region 3. It has become noticeable that residents are witnessing a significant increase in the number of floods in the area. This is a deviation from the established trend. We are suffering not to mention fears of more inconveniences.
The writer of this letter is of the view that a team of specialists is needed to visit, identify possible reasons for these floods and recommend possible remedial implementations. Some questions I posit are:
1. Is the current pump installation capable to deal with the incoming water?
2. Is the closure of the Wales Estate forcing abandoned and unsupervised backdam overflows to consistently flood this area?
3. If the floods trend continues will it severely affect not only properties of current population but future projects thereby impeding maximum production?
