Sixty-two year old Tiwatty Nandalall, of Jib, Region Two, is still in shock after her two-bedroom house was completely gutted on Thursday last. She was not at home at the time of the fire.
Still coming to grips with what transpired, Nandalall related that she received a call from her daughter on Friday morning stating that her house had burned down. She said that for a moment she went numb and kept asking her daughter if it was true.
The woman said that when she realised that it was indeed true, she immediately went home and saw that her house was completely reduced to ashes.
“All my clothes, all my electronics, all the fridge, microwave everything went up, my entire life I worked to build my house and live in comfort and look at what happened,” Nandalall lamented.
The incident, she said, spiked her blood pressure and she is still coming to grips with what went wrong. She is however thankful that she was not at home at the time of the fire.
“Thank God I wasn’t around but I really hope I can live back in my own home, I cannot believe this happened.”
Nandalall is seeking assistance to rebuild her home. Those wishing to help can contact her on 659-4656.
