The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Air Corps last night conducted a Medical Evacuation for a 7-year old boy from the Bartica Hospital following a motor vehicle accident, earlier in the evening.
Doctors at the hospital made a request through the Regional Health system, after which the GDF was contacted and the requisite approval granted to transport the lad who had suffered substantial injury and had to be intubated prior to travel, a release from the GDF said.
The Bell 412 departed Air Corps at approximately 8.20 pm and landed at Base Camp Ayanganna at 9.15 pm. the child was then transported by ambulance to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
