A domestic worker and a taxi driver were arrested on Wednesday by police over cocaine and cannabis.
According to a Guyana Police Force release, on Wednesday at about 05:00 hrs, ranks from Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station acting on information received, went to a house in Swan Street Squatting Area, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara where they arrested two persons who were caught with cocaine and cannabis.
On arrival at the house, the ranks conducted a search on the occupants, 59-year-old Bibi Zamoon Zamal, a domestic worker, and 33-year-old Travis Gilbert, a taxi driver.
