The Region Two Mashramani committee yesterday officially unveiled its calendar of activities in observance of Guyana’s 53rd year of republican status. A cultural programme was held at the Anna Regina Car Park and featured dances, live steel pan music, calypso, and addresses by regional officials. The programme was organised after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Declaring the activities open was Region Two Chairperson, Vilma De Silva, who informed that the activities will be celebrated under the theme, “Mixing and Mashing as One Guyana”. She said that every sector in the Region has been transformed and Essequibians should be proud to join in the celebration.
“We will be celebrating as a One Guyana, as one people together, we need to be proud of our achievements.”
