Former PPP/C Minister of Finance Saisnarine Kowlessar is tipped to be Guyana’s new High Commissioner to India, well-placed sources say.
Kowlessar is expected to replace disgraced former High Commissioner Charrandass Persaud whose tenure was brought to an end last year after his vile verbal abuse of a woman in New Delhi.
Kowlessar served as Finance Minister from 1999 to 2006 after the then Finance Minister, Bharrat Jagdeo acceded to the presidency.
In December of 2020, Kowlessar was appointed as chairman of the board of the Guyana Revenue Authority.
