The second Guyana Harpy Eagles (GHE) Four-Day Practice match is scheduled to commence from 0930 hours today at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
The first GHE Four-Day Practice match was played at the same venue from from January 14. The match which finished one day earlier than scheduled, witnessed Veerasammy Permaul X1 making 261 all out off 86 overs in their first innings. Matthew Nandu scored 78, Shamar Yearwood 36, Ronaldo Ali Mohemed 34, Tevin Imlach 33, Rampertab Ramnauth 27 and Kevlon Anderson 26. Bowling for Tagenarine Chanderpaul X1, fast bowler Shamar Joseph grabbed 4 for 30 from 8 overs, and left arm spinner Gudakesh Motie 3 for 38 from 18 overs. Tagenarine Chanderpaul X1 replied with a first innings score of 429 for 10 from 98.1 overs. Wicket Keeper and batter Kemol Savory stroked a magnificent 170. He was well supported by Tagenarine Chanderpaul 53, Chandrapaul Hemraj 40, Kevin Sinclair 40, Antony Bramble 28, Antony Adams 23, and Clintoon Pestano 21.
Veerasammy Permaul X1 in their second innings only managed to post 186 for 10 from 53 overs. Kevlon Anderson made 40, Matthew Nandu 24, Ashmead Nedd 22 and Shamar Yearwood 21. Bowling for Tagenrine Chanderpaul X1 Shamar Joseph took 2 for 17 from 5 overs and Kevin Sinclair 2 for 20 from 9 overs. In the reply, Tagenarine X1 reached their winning target of 19, to reach 22 for 1 from 1.4 overs. Tagenarine Chanderpaul X1 beat Veeerasammy Permaul X1 by 9 wickets. The Guyana Harpy Eagles will play their first West Indies Championship (WIC) match against Barbados Pride at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua from February 1, 2023 to February 4, 2023. On completion of the the WIC first round match, GHE will travel to Grenada to engage Windward Island Volcanoes from February 8, 2023 to February 11, 2023 at the National Stadium.
