President Irfaan Ali yesterday received an update from the Chief Executive Officer of Global Service Inc, George Melville on the progress of the information technology solution for a single window application system.
The company signed a multi-million dollar contract in December of 2022 to modernise and enhance the delivery of plans and permits, a release from the Office of the President noted.
The novel technology will allow the Central Housing and Planning Authority to act as a single point of entry for all planning and development applications. It will also enable members of the public to efficiently access services and track the progress of their applications electronically.
The release said that Ali reminded that the Single Window Project is the “single most important project to increase transparency, efficiency,” as well as the delivery of good governance.
The project is expected to be fully implemented by mid-2023.
Melville used the opportunity to point out the achievements and expansion to date of sister company, Global Techno-logy Inc, which is celebrating 25 years, and to introduce President Ali to his business partner at that company Shafiq Jiwani.
Head of Sales and Marketing for Global Technology Inc eStore, Zameena Muslim was also at the meeting.
