Mashramani is just a couple weeks away and local costume designers are still awaiting feedback from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport on plans for the festival.
One designer said she was interested in participating in this year’s activity but is still waiting on confirmation from the Ministry.
“No designers were informed on what they will be doing by the Ministry even though it is last minute, so I would be unable to give out any information as to what design or theme I would be using this year”, the designer said.
The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports was also contacted by Stabroek News but this newspaper was told that no information could be released.
The traditional float parade has not been held for two years because of COVID-19 and so this year’s celebration is expected to be big.
