Sports bar owner remanded on drug possession charges

Owner of City Vibes Sports Bar and Lounge, Clyde Barrett, who was recently busted by the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), yesterday appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he was remanded by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly.

The charge against 45-year-old Barrett also known as ‘Clivey’ of Callender Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, stated that on January 25 at Avenue of the Republic, he had in his possession 11.58 kilogrammes of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

After pleading not guilty to the charge, the magistrate remanded the man to prison and adjourned the matter until February 24.
