Following last year’s resounding success, the second annual National Sports Conference returns this morning to the National Cultural Centre.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, the National Sports Commission and the Department of Sport, the event will get underway from 09:00hrs under the theme ‘The Science of Sport Development.’
A number of former athletes as well as seasoned sports administrators are among the panelists who will be involved in the discussions.
Like last year, this year’s conference will be panel-discussion driven and among the topics that are expected to be discussed are:- The shifting of Training to a more Science-based Format; Inculcating the Winning Mindset; The Business of Sport – Generating More Revenue and Minimum Standards for travelling National Teams. The conference, the brainchild of Minister of Sport, Charles Ramson Jnr., will encompass discussions from panelists like former acclaimed cricketers, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Esuan Crandon, Lennox Cush, along with the likes of Wayne Forde, David Fernandes, Donald Duff, Jamie McDonald, Troy Cadogan, Godfrey Monroe, Aubrey Hutson, Dr. Karen Pilgrim and others.
The moderators for the four topics are Akeem Greene, Rawle Toney, Avenash Ramzan and Franklin Wilson.
