Mid Atlantic Oil and Gas, the local partner in the exploration of the Canje Block offshore is not being wound up.
This had been erroneously stated in the January 29th edition of the Sunday Stabroek under the headline `Partner in Canje offshore block to wind up operations’. That news item referred to a notice of winding up by Mid Atlantic Deepwater Exploration Company Inc. That company is different from Mid Atlantic Oil and Gas. Stabroek News regrets the error.
According to a notice in the Guyana Chronicle, Mid Atlantic Deepwater Exploration Company Inc, will be holding a general meeting on March 3rd, 2023, at 11 o’clock at its 92 Oronoque Street, Queenstown location in Georgetown regarding the winding up of the company.
The purpose of the general meeting of the company is to receive the report and the accounts of the liquidator on the voluntary winding up of the company. It is unclear why the company made this decision.
