Dear Editor,
There can be no denying that there is deep distrust between the two main political parties (the PPP and the PNC).
But this distrust stems from past actions by both sides that is affecting the current affairs of the Guyanese nation which is not fair on the younger generation. It is now up to us to chart a different direction as it is our time.
Past Leaders, on both sides, did their best for us but made mistakes that impacted negatively on Guyanese psyche.
I remember the past; I don’t live in it.
There needs to be more forgiveness in society to reduce the distrust so that the Guyanese Nation can heal. Forgiveness means not continuously bringing up past hurts as there needs to be time to heal as well.
Why can’t we meet and have a gaff? Maybe, sneak in a couple of handshakes in the process.
Sincerely,
Sean Ori
