All commercial activity is expected to come to a halt on February 5, 2023 on Commerce Street when the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) will commence a desilting exercise at the Commerce Street Sluice inlet and outfall channels.
The desilting exercise is expected to improve drainage in the city. As a result, all vending activities will be halted in the area of Water Street, between Commerce Street and Avenue of the Republic. Vendors are advised to remove all of vending pallets, tables, and other structures positioned in the indicated areas.
