Guyanese woman killed in Trinidad

A Guyanese woman was among three persons who were on Saturday found in a vehicle at Rose Drive, Carapo, Trinidad and Tobago (TT&T) riddled with bullets.

The trio was identified by police as Justin Paul, 25, his girlfriend, Shalini Shivnanan, 25, of Guyana and Justin’s brother, Curtis Dobson. The couple resided at Temple Street, Chanka Trace, El Socorro with their five-year-old son while Dodson lived at Peytonville Road, Carapo.

According to Loop News of Trinidad, the police report stated that gunshots were heard at Rose Drive, Carapo, just before 3 o’clock on Saturday. When officers responded, they found three persons slumped in a vehicle. Their bodies were riddled with bullets.

Justin worked with Commu-nity-Based Environmental Protection and Enhancement Programme, Shivnanan was a doubles vendor, and Dobson was a plumber. Shivnanan’s brother, Ram Shivnanan, told Stabroek News yesterday that he was unable to say what exactly transpired since he resides in Guyana. He said once he travels to Trinidad and Tobago he should have more information.

A video of the aftermath of the brutal murders was shared on social media, making its way to their families.
