Monedderlust and Buxton Stars secured victories when the East Coast Mash Cup football championships continued Sunday evening at the Golden Grove Community Centre ground.
In the first fixture, Monedderlust defeated Beterverwagting 2-0. Kevin Cottoy and Tyrone Delph scored in the 13th and 85th minute respectively.
In the second match, Buxton Stars defeated Rosignol 5-3 on penalty kicks after regulation and extra time finished scoreless.
The winner of the tournament will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy, whilst the second, third and fourth place finishers will collect $250,000, $150,000, and $100,000 respectively and the corresponding accolade.
