Suruj Basraj, called ‘Vickram’, a 54-year-old businessman of Chateau Margot, East Coast Demerara, was arrested two weeks ago by a police rank from the Beterverwagting Police Station and later charged with felonious wounding.
According to a police press release, Basraj appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court #1 before Magistrate Rochelle Liver-pool where the charge was read to him and he pleaded not guilty.
Bail was granted in the sum of $450,000. The matter was adjourned to 2023-02-17.
