oung Achievers brushed aside newcomer Alpha by a 3 – 0 score-line when the Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) Senior Men’s League continued on Monday evening at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
It was a dominant performance from the West Demerara outfit, as they dominated the contest from the start. The first period started perfectly for Young Achievers as they romped to a 25-12 win to seize a 1-0 advantage.
The lead was then doubled in the second stanza compliments of a similarly capable showing as Young Achievers prevailed 25-16. The Alpha unit produced their best performance in a very competitive third set but still went down to their opponent 30-32 which sealed the result.
The tournament continues on Friday at the same venue with a lone fixture.
