Mighty Ruler won the Men’s final while Bartica Queens won the Women’s title in the Jermaine Christian Birthday Street-ball tournament on Saturday evening at the Bartica Community Centre tarmac.
Mighty Ruler edged Genna by a 1-0 score. An unfortunate own goal settled the outcome, as the Genna defender deflected the ball into the back of the net. With the result, Mighty Ruler walked away with $100,000 and the championship trophy.
On the other hand, Bartica Queens downed Olinda Girls by an identical score-line in the lone Women’s match. The elimination tournament featured 12 teams competing in the Men’s division.
