Nicolette Fernandes, Alex Arjoon and Daniel Ince secured victories, when the BCQS Masters Squash Championship continued last evening at the Georgetown Club facility, Camp Street.
Competing as the lone female in the Men’s 30-44 section, Fernandes dismissed Regan Pollard 11-2, 11-4, 11-8. On the other hand, Arjoon brushed aside Javid Rahaman 11-3, 11-4, 11-3, while Daniel Ince made light work of Nicholas Narain 11-3, 11-7, 11-1 in the Men’s 30-44 section.
Continuing in the same section, Barbadian Shawn Simpson dismantled Jonathan Antczak 11-7, 11-1, 11-2, and Jason van Dijk cruised past Reagan Rodrigues 11-5, 11-1, 11-4.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s 35 and over division, Lydia Fraser downed Hazel-Anne Sandy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 11-6, 11-3, 11-2, whilst Kathy Ten-Pow crushed Canadian Anna Perreira 11-0, 11-0, 11-1. In the Men’s 55-64 section, Joseph Mekdeci defeated Lloyd Fung-A-Fat 11-4, 12-10, 11-8, whilst Rob Edwards defeated John Astleford of the United Kingdom 11-6, 10-12, 12-10, 6-11, and 11-7 Continuing in the same section, Barbadian Marlon White overcame Narendra Singh 11-6, 16-14, 11-6, while Mark Sealy of Barbados crushed countryman Peter Harris 11-5, 11-1, 11-1, and Brian Edwards squeaked past Barbadian Dean Straker 11-13, 11-5, 11-3, 9-11, 11-4. On Wednesday at the same venue in the Men’s 30-44 section, Pollard crushed van Dijk 11-5, 11-9, 11-3, whilst Narain downed Javed Ali 4-11, 11-5, 11-5, 11-7, and Antczak brushed aside Lee Fung A Fat 15-13, 11-4, 11-4.
On the other hand, Fernandes dismantled Rodrigues 11-4, 11-0, 11-6, and Rahaman made light work of Dane Pereira 11-2, 11-2, 11-5. In the Women’s 35 and over division, Sandy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines defeated Perreira 11-9, 13-11, 11-7, while Fraser dismissed Tian Edwards 11-6, 11-3, 11-2, and Ten-Pow mauled Edwards 11-1, 11-2, 11-1.
In the Men’s 55-64 section, Barbadian Amin defeated Edwards 11-5, 11-3, 11-8, whilst Harris of Barbados downed Edwards 11-5, 11-5, 11-8, and Fung-A-Fat bested Straker of Barbados 11-6, 11-6, 11-7. In the Men’s 65 & over section, Dennis Dias defeated Barbadian Orson Simpson 10-12, 11-6, 5-11, 11-2, 11-2.
