Dear Editor,
The residents of Hill Foot along the Linden-Soesdyke highway are grateful for the restoration of water by GWI to the village
It is a sign of gratitude for the long months of patience without any public complaints.
However, the residents along the extension of the original Hill Foot who are in various stages of building their homes would be joyous whenever they receive the flow of electricity in the community.
A few months ago some light posts were planted along the trail that is used as the road.
Some of the residents there are not sure whether it was the GPL poles or whether it was the initiative of some citizens.
No matter whose effort it is, I would urge the relevant authorities at GPL and the responsible minister to kindly address the concerns of Hill Foot.
With the access to electricity, the buildings that are in various stages of completion would be completed in good time as most of the builders’ tools and equipment depend on electricity to work.
It is also commendable that effort to address the entrance to Hill Foot is being attempted. A final solution needs to be found because whenever there is excessive rainfall, a deep pool is created at the entrance.
Some works also need to be done from the entrance to Hill Foot to its exit at the Ideal Road. This is about a mile and all that is needed is to grade the surface and fill it with loam (which incidentally is right there).
Perhaps, this small village might attract the notice of the president.
Yours faithfully,
