Ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) led an interactive engagement with residents of St Cuthbert’s Mission on Saturday, February 4, between 09:45 hrs and 13:00 hrs.
According to a press release, Assistant Superintendent Ramnauth, Sergeant Sedoc and ranks of St Cuthbert’s Mission Police outpost met Toshao Timothy Andrews; Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Lenox Shuman MP; Dr Richard Richmond of the health centre and proprietors of Bimichi Eco-Lodge Josh and Amanda Mahadeo, among other key persons within the community.
Andrews expressed his satisfaction with the work of the police in the community and the same sentiments were echoed by other residents who praised their efforts in keeping the community safe, the release said. However, the teaching and conducting of learner driver programmes, the increase of motorcycles and unlicensed riders and drivers in the community, the need for traffic lecturers to educate villagers, and the examination of motor vehicles to aid in the issuing of fitness, were among the concerns raised.
