Kevin Joseph, a 27-year-old Bartica man, is now in police custody after he was busted with 99 grams of cannabis.
According to the police press release, Joseph was busted during an intelligence-led operation spearheaded by an Assistant Superintendent of Police at a shop located at Fourth Avenue, Bartica on Monday, at about 13:00 hrs. During the operation, the ranks went to the shop, where they observed Joseph coming out of a bushy area not far from the shop. He was apprehended and escorted back to the bushy area, where a black bulky plastic bag was found.
Upon examination, several transparent plastic bags containing a quantity of seeds, leaves and stems suspected to be cannabis were found. Joseph, under caution, admitted ownership of the cannabis.
He was escorted to the Bartica Police Station, where the suspected narcotic was weighed and amounted to 99 grams. He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
