Saints ‘S’ Team and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Spartans copped the men and women titles respectively when the Bounty / Antonio’s Hockey Championship concluded at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
This was disclosed by an official release from the Guyana Hockey Board. In the Men’s championship encounter, Saints ‘S’ Team squeaked past Pepsi Hikers 1-0 compliments of a Jabari Lovell strike.
In the Women’s final, GFF Spartans defeated Woodpecker Hikers 3-0. Sarah Klautky amassed a brace whilst Paige Fernandes added to the score.
Meanwhile, Saints ‘S’ Team defeated Saints Splinters in the earlier semi-final round of the Men’s division, whilst Pepsi Hikers bested arch-rival GCC.
In the earlier Women’s semi-final section, Woodpecker Hikers crushed Old Fort Samurai 4-0. Maria Munroe bagged a double whilst Shundell Durant and Kenisha Wills recorded one goal apiece.
On the other hand, the GCC Spartans unit overcame the GCC Tigers outfit 2-1. Sara Matthias recorded a double in the win. For the loser, Princessa Wilkie netted.
