The inaugural edition of the Rock Futsal Championship will resume this evening at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue with another round of elimination matches. At 19:00hrs, Gold is Money will oppose Kitty FC. This will be followed by Tiger Bay against Alexander Village in the second encounter at 19:45hrs whilst Future Stars and Stabroek Ballers will take centre stage at 20:30hrs.
In the fourth encounter, Back Circle will match skills with Leopold Street from 21:15hrs with Bent Street engaging Beterverwagting (BV) at 22:00hrs, and Sparta Boss taking aim at Vengy from 22:45hrs. Tournament coordinator Wayne `Harry’ Griffith said, “We are quickly approaching the latter stages of the tournament so the competition and excitement is expected to increase by a significant proportion given the calibre of teams that remain in the tournament. We have experienced sides that are traditionally giants in the format alongside emerging teams that are destined to be threats going forward for the foreseeable future.”
The winner of the tournament will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy. On the other hand, the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $250,000, $150,000, and $100,000 respectively.
On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) will receive one motorcycle. Similarly, a patron will receive one motorcycle on the night of the final. Below features the complete list of elimination matches.
