LUCAS STOCK INDEX (LSI)
The Lucas Stock Index fell 1.235 percent during the first period of trading in February 2023 in a reversal of its performance last week when the index rose 1.661 percent on the sale of 66,443 shares. The stocks of six companies were traded this first period in February with 29,661 shares changing hands. There were no Climbers, but the index saw four Tumblers.
The stock price of Banks DIH (DIH) lost 4.634 percent on the sale of 9,128 shares. The stock price of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) fell 0.260 percent on the sale of 14,543 shares. The stock price of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) went down 0.152 percent on the sale of 5,000 shares. The stock price of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) fell 0.020 percent on the sale of 68 shares to help push the LSI into negative territory this week.
In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) and Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) held steady on the sale of 210 and 712 shares respectively.
