Adrian Hetmyer continued to show he is a cut above the rest, hitting a double century as Rose Hall Canje Arborsmart defeated Mount Sinai in the Berbice Cricket Board/ RL Construction U-15 tournament over the weekend.
Rose Hall won the toss and decided to bat first, posting a mammoth 387 all out in 40.3 overs.
They then dismissed Mount Sinai for a paltry 30 in 19.2 overs. Hetmyer was the star of the show, hitting 11 sixes and 13 fours during his 122-ball 218 as he batted for three hours. The opener shared a 225-run partnership for the second-wicket with Lakeram Singh who made 61 from 43 balls, hitting four sixes and three fours. He also added 114 for the first wicket with Richard Ramdeholl. Ramdeholl made 30 from 34 balls and stroked two boundaries.
However, after Hemtyer and Singh were both run out by Aaron Singh, Rose Hall Canje could only add 25 runs to their total as no other batsman reached double figures. Extras accounted for 58.
Anthony Persaud was the pick of the bowlers, taking 5-55 while Geovanni Amsterdam bagged 3-61. In Mount Sinai’s demise, it was a collective effort by the bowlers as no batsman scored more than four runs with six of them failing to come off the mark. Extras had the most contributions at 19.
Luke Amsterdam took 3-7 while Singh returned to take two wickets in three overs, all of which were maidens. Aarush Hemraj and Jade Campbell each took two wickets.
Meanwhile, Rose Hall Canje defeated Tucber Park by 10 wickets. Tucber Park won the toss and batted but were bundled out for 33 in 17.3 overs. Rose Hall Canje then knocked off the target in four overs with Hetmyer ending on 26 not out from 12 balls.
Tucber Park’s innings was curtailed by Ramdeholl who took five wickets for one run. Singh and Ahill Hemraj both captured two wickets for four and 10 runs respectively.
Extras was once again the major contributor in Tucber Park’s innings with 18.
