A brutal innings from former Guyana youth all-rounder, Richie Looknauth inspired All Youths to a six-wicket win over Windsor Forest A over the weekend.
Batting first, Windsor Forest A posted 130 for four in their allotted 20 overs while All Youths needed 18.2 overs to reach their target of 131 and lost four wickets along the way.
Looknauth muscled his way to 80 after smashing six sixes and seven fours, two of which were taken off of Abdullah Wazidalli’s second over.
Looknauth said it was good to be back on the park, owning to the excessive rains over the last few months. He said this innings means a lot to him especially at home, having enjoyed success in the United States and in the local trial matches that earned him a spot in the reserves for the Guyana Harpy Eagles.
Extras had the next best tally of 16 while contributions came from Ricky Persaud (15), Sachin Narine (seven) and Tamesh Persaud (six).
Earlier, Windsor Forest A were indebted to Killon Tracy who gave them a solid start with 21 from 41 balls. Tracy struck two boundaries along the way while Deoram Chanderbir clubbed two sixes and two fours on his way to 28 from 32 balls.
Wazidalli had a quickfire 19 not out from 10 while Avinash Ganesh made 15 not out. Their total was propped up by a grotesque 29 runs.
